Our goal is to help you engage after brain injury and reach your goals. We've seen the isolation and limited access to services that can limit individuals living with brain injury - not because they are not capable.
We hope to see positive outcomes physically, emotionally, and socially within the brain injury community with these classes. We hope that by engaging, these classes might help you take the first step to reaching your goal of walking, living more independently, finding a job, or more! The possibilities are endless.
If you're just looking for something to do and have fun, that's what we want too! Rehabilitation after brain injury is often long and can be difficult. If you just want a space to connect with others and learn something new, this is the perfect class for you.
Once you've signed up, you should be all set to receive reminder emails with the meeting link. So you won't have to sign up each week and the link to each meeting stays the same. If there's an issue and you are not receiving reminder emails, please let us know.
It might help to add a reminder in your phone on computer with the meeting link. We will be investigating a text reminder option as well. Let us know if that would be more helpful for you.
On the day and time of your class, you should receive a reminder email with the meeting links. Select your day/meeting and join the Zoom meeting waiting room. You will be let in at the start of the class. If you arrive late, you may be still allowed in but at the discretion of the facilitator. If you've missed a key warm-up or teaching of a skill, it might be hard to catch up.
Classes are interactive, we do a lot of activities and there may be questions asked by our facilitators. If you feel comfortable, turn on your audio and camera to share with everyone. Let the facilitator know if you just would like to watch or have any questions.
At the end of the class you'll be encouraged to take a poll (4 questions) that let us know how you felt about the class. These answers are anonymous, meaning your name won't be tied to them, so please answer these honestly.
Within the hour after the class, you'll receive a follow-up email with an additional survey if you have any comments, concerns, or ideas to share.
This is a new program to host for our Association, and we understand there are bound to be some hiccups to begin with. We appreciate your patience and are here to help you throughout the entire process.
Reach out with any troubles or concerns, a staff member can go through filling the form out with you via phone or Zoom if needed.
If Zoom intimidates you at all, we can schedule some time to practice or help you get into the meeting.
