Legal Aid of North Carolina
Legal Aid of North Carolina partners with Nelson Mullins law firm to provide free representation for folks seeking guardianship in Durham, Forsyth, Orange, and Wake Counties.
We match volunteer attorneys with parents or caregivers seeking guardianship of young adults with significant mental or physical limitations which interfere with daily living skills and responsible decision-making. The parent/caregiver must be US citizens and qualify for Legal Aid of North Carolina services based on income. Guardianship must be uncontested, and all parties must agree that guardianship is needed.
