A three day class available to review material for the certification exam and strengthen the network of dedicated, competent brain injury specialists across North Carolina. A Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer (CBIST) designation is also available that allows professionals to conduct CBIS courses and administer the necessary exams. The CBIS and CBIST certifications are developed and administered through the Brain Injury Association of America. These designations require an applicant to pass a standardized exam, possess a high school education, and complete 500 hours of paid work experience with brain injury in the past 3 years.
